KYDS Youth Services are set to provide mental health support and services to young people in Hornsby, thanks to a “location donation” by Art of Smart Education.
KYDS business and funding manager Felicity McDonnell said they would work collaboratively at the new space on Peats Ferry Rd, Hornsby.
“It is an incredible opportunity to provide increased services to more people across the region.
“Art of Smart will provide KYDS with a dedicated counselling room at the new Hornsby campus, enabling the KYDS model of easily accessed, confidential, professional counselling and mental health support to become a reality for more young people in the Hornsby area.’’
Art of Smart founder Rowan Kunz said the organisation takes a “holistic view of student potential and wellbeing”.
“By providing space for KYDS, we are not only reminding our own clients of the importance we place on maintaining a well-rounded lifestyle and positive mind habits, we are also ensuring the valuable free service KYDS offers becomes more widely available for young people in Hornsby and surrounding suburbs,” Mr Kunz said.
KYDS Board representative David Jordan said they would start with two days of free sessions but hoped to increase that.
